From college students to stay-at-home moms, rbt Bags provides a great opportunity for each of us to exercise our creative skills, but still remain committed to our many other responsibilities.

We found another great use for our oilcloth remnants--luggage tags! These items are colorful, fun and useful. Best of all, because they're so small we can dig through our mounds of remnants to come up with enough material to make them. We always love it when we can find practical applications for "trash!"

These tags work great for luggage or can be customized to coordinate with any of our tote bags. Our luggage tags are now available for $5.50 here and tags that coordinate with our oilcloth diaper bags, as seen below, are available here.

For those of you who don't really dig flowers (no pun intended), we are sympathetic. Oilcloth is designed and produced in Mexico; from start to finish, this product was meant to reflect the warmth and excitement of the authentic Mexican culture, as well as to honor its Spanish traditions. Translated: it's hard to find an oilcloth pattern that doesn't have bright, bold flowery patterns on it somewhere! However, we don't want to exclude you non-flower lovers any longer, so we searched the depths of the oilcloth archives and came up with this, our Back to Basics Collection.

We are slowly making all of our products available in this combination of red and black polka dot, gingham and plaid patterns. We really like the subtlety of these designs and colors; it has all of the best of what oilcloth has to offer in terms of form and function, but without all the frills. Even flower-phobic husbands might be willing to hold these bags while you're in the bathroom! Our large and XL unlined tote bags come standard with an attached piece of elastic to allow for our roll 'n stash function. You have the option to add a velcro closure to the lined version of these bags, which also allows for the roll 'n stash function. The roll 'n stash function enables you to roll your bag up and store it closed, while it's not in use, so that you can conveniently "stash" the bag away until it's needed again! The bags are available for sale at our Etsy shop.

The Faces Behind the Scenes

rbt Bags began as Rachel Tucker's creative outlet. As a mom of five boys with limited resources, it was hard to find affordable products in the marketplace that met the practical needs in her family without sacrificing style. So, she set out on a borrowed sewing machine to construct her own solutions to this problem. As her love for designing things grew, she had to find a way to fund this new hobby. That’s when she began selling her handmade products.

At rbt Bags, we try to use our resourcefulness to create products that add whimsy to people’s lives without sacrificing practicality or sophistication. Our handmade items are designed and then redesigned until we come up with the simplest pattern possible; that way we keep our prices as affordable as we can while maintaining good quality products. We hope that you like what we have to offer and look forward to adding more products in the future!
